October 2020

To Our Idaho Senior Games Athletes:

With the 2020 Idaho Senior Games having been canceled, I suspect that many of our Coordi-nators, Volunteers, Board Members, and athletes are missing the Games as much as I do. My interactions with you all are what I miss most right now.

Planning for future Games keeps me connected to our ISG community. To that end, I have been working on adding 2 new sports to our list of competitions. They are mountain biking and power lifting.

While we have very successful road cycling events, I have been told by numerous people in the local cycling community that there are just as many mountain bike enthusiasts as road racing cyclists.

The other event, power lifting, does not yet have the following that many of our events have but I think we are going to give it a try. Bringing new athletes into our Games is an important goal.

Please know that our Games would not be successful without all the efforts of our dedicated Coordinators and Volunteers. I look forward to working with you all again when the Games resume next year. We encourage everyone to stay active during this down time. Fitness is a great stress reliever!

We hope things are going well for you, your family and your close friends. It has been a difficult time for all of us.

Let’s stay in touch!
